ALUMNI BIO - LINDA LINDQUIST-BISHOP ('80)
For 20+ years Linda Lindquist-Bishop has been immersed in 11 industries in companies ranging from start-ups to multi-national corporations. A native of Chicago and a transplant to Manhattan she has had dynamic and diverse career positions including those of marketing executive, sales manager, magazine publisher, sponsorship director, sports property president, entrepreneur, strategic consultant, executive coach, speaker and professional athlete. Lindquist-Bishop has blazed trails in the all-male world of offshore yacht racing, sailing on over 100 teams in the past 19 years most recently winning the Farr 40 World Championship in September 2004. As a member of America3, the first all-women’s team to compete in the America’s Cup, she simultaneously competed as a team member and spearheaded their highly successful sponsorship program bringing several companies into the sports business for the first time.
![]() In 1996 as publisher of Yachting Magazine she continued to leverage her grand prix sports success with 20 years of branding in the luxury goods market to create new business opportunities and growth. Awarded Glamour Magazine’s ‘Women of the Year Award’ in ’95 with America3, International Women in Boating ‘Woman of the Year’ in 1996 and the Lifetime Television List and participant of ‘100 Women of the Century’ in ’97 Lindquist-Bishop continues to serve on several boards and organizations in the women’s sports, sailing and non-profit communities. ![]()
Linda Lindquist-Bishop is president of The Kairos Network, Ltd. – empowering individuals and teams to excellence. Utilizing both executive coaching and the LifePlanTM process, she works with individuals in finding their passion/vision focused path while making successful AND fulfilling life transitions. Lindquist-Bishop has her BA in Philosophy/Ethics from the University of Illinois, Champaign, Urbana. She studied additionally with The Landmark Institute and Aspen Institute. She speaks, writes and consults in the areas of, values-based leadership, high performing teams, strategic development, media, sports and start-ups. She continues to compete in sailing at an international level both on the water and the ice. Linda and their golden retriever ‘Buddy’ currently reside in Chicago while her husband Col. Brian Bishop is serving in S. Korea with the USAF
