The Foundation recently received a heartfelt note from alum Mary Bridges Wiggenhorn. A copy of the note is provided below. Thanks to all involved in the Class of '65 Reunion that helped out a fellow Red Devil!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am a graduate of the class of 1965 who has lived in
the New Orleans area since 1982.  I have never missed
a reunion, but we had a little bad weather this year
and I had to cancel my plans.

Unbeknownst to me, Jay Meaden took up a collection
from my classmates at the reunion, resulting in about
$2,000!  I am a self-employed paralegal whose stream
of income washed away and I can assure you that the
money will come in handy.

I have nothing in my life with which to compare this
unexpected, spontaneous act of goodness.  In the last
four weeks, I have experienced many acts of generosity
and kindness, but this surpasses all of them!

There is no list of donors, so I am hoping that you
can post this email on your website, so that at least
some of these wonderful people will know how touched I
am.

I always think of the years I spent in Hinsdale as the
golden time of my life.  Now, more than ever, I
realize that it was the people I knew that made it so.
Although the town may have changed dramatically in
its physical appearance, its heart and soul are still
in the right place.

Many thanks to all of my friends.  Come see me in New
Orleans (in a few months) and I promise I'll make sure
you "pass a good time".
