Look what’s going on at Central!

MODEL UN

Team delegates participated in a conference at Stevenson High School where the club, comprised primarily of first time members, competed very well and brought home awards galore, among them Best Delegate and Outstanding Delegate. The team represented the nations of Mauritius, South Korea and Cuba.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BUILDS A FOLLOWING

Central’s Habitat for Humanity group adopted two families and raised nearly $1500 for the program. Habitat will volunteer at PADS shelters during December and they are planning a trip to work with former President Jimmy Carter in Plains, Georgia in June. Just about 130 kids are involved in the group’s activities.

RADIO WAVES

Central radio station WHSD 88.5 FM is broadcasting with a new format and plans are underway for new space as well. This year programs fall into three specific categories: variety (free form performance), music (only 13 minutes of talking in a two-hour slot), and sports which will present play-by-play reports of athletic events. Shows will air from the station at Hinsdale South until renovations are completed on our campus. A new transmitter will beam broadcasts to the entire Hinsdale Township area instead of just the few blocks around the campus proper.
