Look what’s going on at Central! Athletics The girls golf team took the West Suburban Conference title this year while the girls cross country team wins the Silver Division conference title for the first time in school history. Girls volleyball finished third in the West Suburban Conference, moving up two places from last year under a new head coach. Girls varsity swim team takes second place in West Suburban Conference. Girls tennis took 3rd in state. Boys bowling has been sanctioned by the Illinois High School Association and Central has added a team to the winter sports roster. THE BUCKET IS BACK The Old Oaken Bucket has been wrested from Downers Grove North and once again is ensconced in Central’s trophy case. The tradition began back in 1935. Hinsdale won for 20 consecutive years between 1951 and 1970. Hinsdale finished 2002 with a 12-1 record.
