Athletics

New Coaches

The Athletic Department will add five new varsity coaches for the 2002-2003 sports season. Two of them are alumni. Jim Zajicek, graduate of the Class of 89, will coach wrestling. Becky Waughop, Class of 92, will coach softball. Welcome to all.

Winter sports wrap-up:

Girls Take State Basketball Championship

The girls basketball team powered victoriously through every level of competition. They were first in the West Suburban Conference, IHSA Regional champs, winners in Sectionals and SuperSectionals, and they took the state title in Normal.

Here’s the spring sports round up:

Girls Badminton The team won the IHSA Sectional Championship and placed second in the West Suburban Conference (WSC).

Boys Basketball Placed 2^nd in the WSC.

Boys Baseball Took the WSC Championship.

Girls Indoor Track The team finished 2^nd in the WSC.

Girls Soccer Won the WSC Championship.

Boys Swimming The team won both the WSC Championship and the Sectional Championship, and they placed 3^rd overall in the state.

Boys Tennis Won the WSC Championship, took the Sectional Championship, and placed 2^nd in the state.

Boys Track & Field This team was the Indoor & Outdoor WSC Championship. This was their first WSC win for indoor events, and the first outdoor title since 1943.
