Jim was a 1943 graduate of Hinsdale Township High School.  He is a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio (B.A. ’47) and received his M.S. from University of Michigan (’48).  He retired from Lloyds of London.  Mr. Farmer was an active supporter of the high school’s sports program and civic organizations.  The James Farmer Service Award was established at Hinsdale Central High School in his honor.  Jim accomplished all his community service activities despite being physically challenged from cerebral palsy. He passed away October 8, 2005.
